Meet Our Founder

Melanie Meiring

Founder

Melanie is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with specialized expertise in fraud prevention, forensic accounting, and compliance. With a background in modern applied psychology, she brings a unique ability to detect and prevent fraud by combining human behavior analysis with advanced investigative techniques.

Her approach integrates Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and investigative psychology to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions for businesses across sectors.

Melanie also supports foreign investors as a trusted Chief Integrity Officer — helping safeguard investments through strategic oversight, risk assessments, and integrity-driven guidance.

As a public speaker and leadership coach, she empowers leaders and teams to make ethical decisions, foster accountability, and build sustainable growth from within.

Collaborating with

Nico Smith

Nico is the founder and Managing Member of SICS since 1999, bringing over four decades of investigative experience. A former Chief Inspector in the Namibian Police, he has led high-level investigations into fraud, theft, and protected resource crimes.

He holds a National Diploma in Police Science and advanced certifications in short-term insurance, loss adjusting, and motor vehicle forensics. Nico is a High Court-accredited mediator and a Commissioner of Oaths, with professional memberships including ACFE and the International Association of Arson Investigation.

Chris Moller

Chris is a seasoned forensic consultant and legal expert with over 30 years of public sector and corporate experience. He holds an LLB and is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.

As the former Head of Forensics & Integrity at Ernst & Young Namibia, he led complex investigations into fraud, corruption, and misconduct across sectors. Chris specializes in fraud risk assessments, forensic reporting, and integrity training. He’s also a former ACFE affiliate and current member of the Namibian Association of Risk Management.

Jaime Smith

Jaime holds a BSc in Psychology and Physiology, and has been conducting polygraph tests, forensic interviews, and investigations since founding her firm in 2005. She later completed her LLB and expanded her expertise into Labour Law, HR, recruitment, and dispute resolution.

Today, Jaime supports businesses with pre-employment screening, soft skills training, mentoring, and arbitration — combining legal knowledge with deep insight into human behavior.

Andrew Fordred

Andrew Fordred a Namibian, previously an intelligence officer for the Crime Intelligence Service with the South African Police. Currently, he provides intelligence and investigation services to clients. Andrew is also the founder of the Cyber Institute providing training to the private sector and government, a member of Board of Advisors for the OSMOSIS Institute (USA) and serves on the advisory board for Bachelor of Computer Science Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Honours curriculum at NUST. He is also a public speaker at events such as the Journey of the Hacker Windhoek Namibia, OSMOSIS 2018 Las Vegas USA, Cyber Threats against Children UNICEF and the Munich Cyber Crime Conference by Maltego.
